I am Parth Mehta, currently in the final year of my Bachelorโs in Computer Engineering. I aspire to pursue a Master's Degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI).
I was passionate about computers and like every third Indian I chose Computer Engineering but later realised that my appeal to code wasnโt as strong as my appeal to align pixels and solve problems. I found out about HCI in my second year and realizing my passion in this domain I took a leap of faith ๐ซ . This endeavour has helped me solve real problems people have everyday and also to address real business problems and goals.
The web made me and I hope to give it back someday โจ
I have represented my college at various inter-college football competitions since my first year.
I was the Co-Infotech head of my college's ACM Committee. We developed the ACM website and organized a number of workshops.
I was part of my college's UNICODE Committee where I was initially a frontend developer and then was selected as a design mentor.
I was part of the Student Volunteer (SV) Committee of IndiaHCI 2018. As an SV, we had to put in at least 20 hours of work such as providing help with the kits, signage, venues and registrations, or helping out with the logistics, managing workshops, etc.
I believe that it is imperative for designers to have an amazing attitude and soft skills, rather than hard skills of using a design software. According to me, a great designer is the one who can develop empathy, and be able to place aside his ego and seriously see what the other person wants by putting themselves in their shoes.
I believe that in an interdisciplinary field like HCI, the main goal is to solve everyday problems people face by taking into consideration a full business ecosystem. Approaching these problems from a position of curiosity, wonder and skepticism, will always yield tremendous results.
It has been a great experience working with Parth. He is a process oriented designer, with an eye for details, for the age he is at. Having worked in this field for quite some time, there were quite a few out of the box tricks I could pick up from him. He is a kid with some amazing potential and has surely a lot of miles to go.

Parth was one of the 1st team members to join us in the design team at Unyque. He has worked on creating and improving the entire user flow and design for Unyque - the frontend, backend and the mobile app. He is an ingenious designer and always strives to be better with each passing day. His sense of design, industry trends, understanding of production and technical proficiency helped us to great lengths. He is creative and has the ability to meet and exceed expectations.
- Virrindra Argekar (Co Founder of Unyque)
I had the opportunity to work with Parth on a website revamp project for Highradius, a SaaS based Fintech enterprise. In a weeks time, Parth displayed his ability to comprehend complex subjects with ease. His critical thinking combined with creative outlook towards problem solving impressed team members from both client and the agency side. His approach to problem solving was most notable. He was meticulous in researching and planning for the presentations and had answers to most queries posed by the client. In short span of time he was able to win the trust of his seniors to be given the opportunity to interact with the client and inspire confidence in them. Parth possesses a rare combination of creativity and critical thinking, making him the most valuable asset for any organization.
- Sanal Nair (Ex-Project Manager at Human Experience Design Studio)
Parth worked with HTIC, IIT Madras as a UI design intern for the Geriatrics project. He helped us to completely revamp the designs and gave it a fresh touch and feel. His curious mindset, obsession for details and ability to clearly communicate his approach towards design, helped us to work well in sync with each other. Parth's hardworking nature and a constant desire to keep himself upgrading in his work is something that I'd love to appreciate.
